My name is Tricia Durrett, I’ve worked in the medical field when I graduated as a radiographer 1999.  I’ve been married to my husband Roy since 2008 and I have a grown daughter, who is married and has a teenage son of her own.

In 2013, for my grandson Vaughn’s 5th birthday, I made a simple white cake but it was my first time using fondant; however, at least the character was recognizable.  When he saw it and my daughter told him I had made it for him, he looked at me and while giving me the biggest hug, he said, “Oh, I love it Gamma!”  Needless to say I’ve been making them every year ever since.  However this particular year tipped the scales for my wanting to put my current business plan into motion. 

 In the past couple of years I’ve added more and more cookies to my current home-based business of primarily cakes and cupcakes.

Even though it started out as a hobby, it didn’t take me long to realize that I wanted to help to make everyone’s memories as magical as mine!

 

Now over the past couple of years, the number of my orders were now increasing to the point that I decided to grow as well.  It was with that growth that my very supportive husband had decided to add an additional room onto our house to be used as my bakery/decorating room.  A big step up from the 10 foot square spare room that I had currently been working out of.  He not only can build things, specifically if I need some sort of gadget for an order, but he will also be right there with me baking cakes, mixing icing and even washing dishes!  He is of course my biggest fan.
